The Winnipeg Ventilator was first released to top academic pulmonary research facilities throughout the world for evaluation and has been used on hundreds of ICU patients. 

15 publications in high impact journals resulted from these studies. The Winnipeg Ventilator was subsequently used in the intensive care unit of the Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg to evaluate and wean patients who were difficult to wean from mechanical ventilation, with a very high success rate.
